Often times when we see a brand and business that is thriving, we wonder about the force behind it. In the case of Rachna Salon, here’s her story in Rachna Thakker’s own words.

“My name is Rachna Thakker and I am from India. As a child, I was quite precocious and always had a deep-seated desire to do something that would make a difference to my life and to the lives of others around me. I had that fire burning inside of me and whatever I did, I genuinely wanted it to also help the women around me. So when I came to the UAE, it was with the mission of starting something of my own. My husband asked me to take up a job, but I said no, I am not someone who will work for somebody, I always wanted to work for myself.”

So started the journey of Rachna Salon, with the support of close family members, and with it, my desire to help the women around me took on a new life. Over the years, I’ve always made it a point to hire women and train them, enabling them to be completely self-sufficient. The aim has always been to give them the kind of independence they dream of but find it difficult to achieve themselves.

That’s why, today we are forging ahead with the desire to create a global luxury brand that gives women access to the kind of beauty service experience that they won’t get elsewhere.
