Self-care is the most important thing you can gift yourself but it can get extremely complicated too. Is a night out counted as self-care? How about getting a massage or getting your nails done?

Well, here’s a news flash. Self-care is anything that makes you feel happy, fulfilled and at peace. It is when you take care of your physical, mental, and emotional health and put yourself before others, even for a little while.

    What’s the benefit, you ask? Well, massages have always been known to relieve stress and help you relax as a result of their positive psychological and physiological effects. They also significantly decrease anxiety and increase sympathetic nervous activity.

    Getting a mani-pedi may seem like an unnecessary extravagance for many but it’s so much more than that. It’s a method of self-care and a way of turning a boring chore into something luxurious and fun.
